Ways of working
Projects may be experimental, computational, or a combination of both.
- Experimental access. We train you to use the instrument, then you run it yourself at the applicable hourly rate.
- Assisted or full experimental service. Our specialists run the laboratory workflow for you. We charge operator time in addition to instrument time.
- Project collaboration. We develop a workflow with you from the biological question onwards, combining experimental and computational work where useful.
- Computational services. We can provide compute-only support for protein and ligand design, sequencing analysis, and data workflows. See compute.
How a project usually runs
For projects involving laboratory work:
- We discuss the biological question and the result you need.
- We run a small pilot and agree in advance how to judge whether the method works.
- If the pilot succeeds, we run the full-scale experiment and return the results, methods, records, and analysis.
For compute-only projects, we agree the question, scope, and expected deliverable first, then run the workflow and return the results and analysis.
Who can use the facility
We work with University of Tartu groups, other academic groups in Estonia and abroad, and companies and start-ups. We offer three pricing tiers.
